Zero Motorcycles New DSR Black Forest Edition Targets Dual Sport Touring
Zero Motorcycles are targeting the dual sport touring market with the announcement of the new DSR Black Forest Edition.
An exclusive for European consumers, the DSR Black Forest offers the longest range of any electric dual sport, by using the highest power and energy density battery tech in the EV industry.
On a single charge Zero claims a range of 163 miles at city speeds, but only 78 miles when on the highway. For a touring bike, we have to admit, those highway figures don’t add up to a bike that seems all that useful.
Included as an optional is Zero’s new Charge Tank and a set of premium integrated luggage.
Zero claims it’s new charging tech makes electric touring possible thanks to the battery’s quick charge times. For every hour plugged in, the bike gets up to 94 miles of range.
There are also increasing numbers of Level II charge stations accessible across Europe, but if it were us, we’d be sure to plan our route carefully.
Zero Motorcycles European Managing Director Umberto Uccelli said:
“The Zero Motorcycles DSR ZF14.4 Black Forest Edition is the first model we’ve ever developed to meet the specific demands of Europe’s adventure and touring riders,”
“Our customers have been asking for a model like this for years. Riding a Zero is the most connected way to move through nature.
The Zero Motorcycles DSR Black Forest extends this to new, longer, and more fun adventures. We invite you to experience your world for the first time with seamless, silent and pure dual sport propulsion.”
The DSR Black Forest Edition delivers an impressive 146 Nm of torque, without the need of clutch or shifting. Performance can be customized using Zero’s mobile app to fit the rider’s needs.
The Zero Motorcycles DSR Black Forest Edition is fully equipped with:
Charge Tank (optional)
Black aluminum top and side panniers
Dual sport drop bars
LED auxiliary lights (for off-road use only)
Head light protector (for off-road use only)
The Zero Motorcycles DSR Black Forest Edition will have limited availability from select dealers starting in April.
