For 2008 Yamaha introduce the YBR125 Custom, a stylish and practical model which expands the company’s diverse 125cc line up. The new YBR125 Custom is closely-based on the extremely popular YBR125 which has established an enviable reputation for its quality, reliability, simplicity, stable handling and value for money.

Custom style with affordable practicality

With its beautiful new bodywork and a range of special comfort-enhancing features, the YBR125 Custom is designed for the rider who is looking for a stylish, affordable and reliable motorcycle.

The focal point of the new bodywork is the beautifully-finished 12-litre teardrop fuel tank which gives the YBR125 Custom a distinctive look. Matching the timeless style of the new fuel tank are front and rear fenders which protect the rider from road surface dirt, and also emphasise the ‘big-bike’ looks – and for an added touch of class the instruments and flashers feature a brilliant chrome finish.

Custom muffler and chrome rear carrier

Also exclusive to this new 125 custom is a stylish large-capacity muffler featuring a chrome-plated heatshield. Equipped with a highly-efficient catalyser, this muffler ensures that the EU3-compliant YBR125 Custom is one of the quietest and cleanest machines in the class.

For enhanced practicality and enhanced comfort a chrome-plated rear carrier is fitted, featuring an integral grab rail.

Comfortable riding position

In addition to the stylish new bodywork, the YBR125 Custom also features raised handlebars and a luxuriously-padded dual seat which accentuate the bike’s handsome custom style.

The new handlebar/seat/footrest relationship also offers a more relaxed and upright seating position which is 20mm lower than the standard YBR125, making this cool new 125 a comfortable daily commuter and attractive weekend runabout.

New-style 9-spoke cast wheels with a wide rear tyre

The new YBR125 Custom is equipped with new-style 9-spoke alloy wheels which keep unsprung weight low for good suspension performance and easy manoeuvrability. And for strong roadholding the new Custom is fitted with a wide section 3.50-16 rear tyre and a 3.00-18 front tyre.

Suzuki Unveil New Intruder C1800RT

Suzuki Unveil New Intruder C1800RT

Suzuki GB has added a flagship model to its growing cruiser range, with the addition of the all-new Intruder C1800RT.

Arriving in dealers now, the new model fills the gap at the top of the range, by taking the mighty power of the M1800R sports cruiser and giving customers a long distance, traditionally styled cruiser with a host of additions offered as standard to aid touring.

Featuring a large touring windshield, saddlebags, passenger backrest, pullback handlebars and floorboards, the new C1800RT is available in very limited quantities with just 90 models coming to the UK.

Suzuki GB's George Cheeseman announced the new addition, commenting;

"The M1800R was launched just over two years ago and has proved a huge success. While it offered exceptional power and styling, we have been missing a model designed for covering larger distances on, and so it's great to be able to offer the C1800RT in the UK. With its relaxed riding position and additional touring kit, it's the perfect cruiser to cover vast distances on in comfort."

The Intruder C1800RT is available to order from all authorised Suzuki dealers, with a recommended retail price of £10,000. With just 90 coming to the UK, interested customers are advised to move fast.

New Look Kawasaki VN2000 Classic Set to Be Unleashed

A big bike with a big reputation, the latest version of Kawasaki’s VN2000 cruiser has just been released for sale in the UK.

In its latest guise, the largest capacity cruiser motorcycle currently in mass production gains a classic look for 2009 with a re-styling treatment to the front of the machine.

In line with Kawasaki’s long standing “Classic” cruiser philosophy, the latest incarnation of the 2053cc machine now has a classic chrome headlamp, light bar and indicators in place of the previous integral multiple beam headlamp unit.

Pumping out over 140 lb-ft of torque at a lowly 3000rpm, the VN2000 Classic successfully combines hardcore cruiser features with an advanced specification sheet that includes digital fuel injection, belt drive and liquid cooling at the top of each cylinder.

Kawasaki Motors UK Sales Manager, Michael Johnstone:

“If you believe there is no substitute for cubes and cruiser horsepower, the VN2000 is the machine for you the new VN2000 Classic, in Metallic Diablo Black, is just as ready to pose as it is to perform.”

With top spot on the sales chart being dominated by the YZFR125 for two months in row since it’s release in May, it was of no surprise to learn that Yamaha’s class leading learner legal sports bike has once again stormed the charts and come in at number one for the third month in row.

No sooner have dealers around the country taken delivery of the YZFR125, than they are flying straight out the door again as teenage and mature riders alike rush to get their hands on one.

In second spot for July, right behind the YZFR125, lies Yamaha’s extremely capable and economic YBR125 which continues to be the preferred choice when it comes to cost effective transport.

Geoff Selvidge, Yamaha’s Divisional Manager for Motorcycles:

“Once again the figures show that the YBR125 is the motorcycle to have for riders wanting to beat congestion and reduce the cost of commuting.”

With the phenomenal success of the YZFR125, coupled with Yamaha’s Free Subsidised insurance campaign covering the YBR125 and great range of scooters, next months sales figures could very well remain in Yamaha’s favour.

UK stocks of the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Classic are down to the last 100 units and once they are sold the longest surviving production motorcycle in the world will no longer be available to British bikers.

Powered by a cast iron 346cc single cylinder pushrod engine, the Bullet Classic 350 produces 18bhp and, apart from minor detail changes to the electrical system, is virtually unchanged since it first rolled off the production line 53 years ago. Although capable of delivering 108mpg, making it an eco-friendly vehicle in terms of fuel consumption, tough new European emissions regulations have proved too stringent for the 1950’s technology of the engine, which will be replaced by a clean new fuel-injected 500cc alloy unit for 2009.

The Royal Enfield Bullet is the longest surviving production motorcycle and offers today’s riders a genuine classic look and charming riding experience, but with the added benefits of low running costs and insurance, plus a full warranty and nation-wide dealer support. Its story started in 1955 when the British manufacturer established a satellite factory in Madras (now Chennai) to help meet demand from the Indian Army. When the UK factory closed in 1967, production continued in India.

Priced at a modest £2,495 the Bullet 350 Classic is available through a national dealer network and demand for the final 100 machines is expected to outstrip supply.
