Bike Devil’s Week on Two-Wheels: Our Weekly News Update – 22nd July

Posted 22nd July 2019

Hello Monday! And it means it’s time for another Bike Devil Week on Two-Wheels…

Let’s start with sport. BSB was in action at Snetterton, and Scott Redding continued to show he’s a class act, offering further proof that he can master the British circuits as well as the GP style tracks, and added a double win to his victory from Knockhill last time out. Favourite for the championship? We think so! Our Bike Devil MV Agusta team took to the circuit for the first time with pilot Danny Kent. Sadly it wasn’t a dream start, having a problem with the clutch housing meant two DNF’s, however valuable track time and data was gained.

Who caught the new Top Gun trailer? The original is steeped in motorcycling folklore thanks to the GPZ900R it features, and Tom Cruise is back on a big-engined Kwak in the new one, this time a H2!

Remaining in the US of A, Harley Davidson is currently launching its much-teased and long-awaited (maybe?) electric Livewire! It’s a dramatic change for the American firm and its reception will be interesting, to say the least.

Last week we heard that Yamaha was bringing a new R1 and R1M to market in 2020, and this week pricing has been announced: the base model will set you back £16,799, while the higher-spec M model comes in at £21,999.

Helmet brand Shoei is making easier to look like Marc Marquez this summer, with a special replica X Spirit III from the last year’s Motegi MotoGP round going on sale for £799.99.

And if you’re heading to the Classic TT next month, we have some excellent news: not only will we have an in-depth visitors’ guide coming at you this week, but fan-favourite and all-round good guy Bruce Anstey will be on track and racing again after battling cancer for the second time. And frankly, we can’t wait to see it.

Stay tuned for the next Bike Devil round-up in a week’s time!
