Triumph’s unveil of the new Boneville Scrambler 1200 was quite the star studded affair this week, but it was the bike that was the star of the show. Tom Hardy, Carl Froch, the little one from The Grand Tour and a host of sporting personalities turned out at the Excel Arena, where the new model took a turn in a race of nations on an indoor mx track.
The new Scrambler was well up for it. Bags of power and torque, mated to suspension and brakes that are ready for everything from gentle commutes to the toughest off sections you’ll find this side of the Dakar Rally, made light work of the manmade racetrack.
The retro styling will appeal to those that want to stand out from the crowd, but the next level technology and hardware is what really separates this bike from the competition.
The huge TFT screen allows you to see which of the riding modes you’ve selected, it also integrates with GoPro cameras (a first on any bike) and is capable of turn by turn navigation if you have the free to use app that Triumph has developed. Cornering ABS and cornering Traction Control will keep you safe, wherever you choose to ride.
We’ll be on the press launch and will bring you a detailed review once we’ve ridden it, but for now we’re confident that this bike has set the bar at a new high in the Scrambler sector of the market.
